Marina Nissim helps people embrace a more sustainable lifestyle with thoughtfully designed products.

From canned tuna and ketchup to household cleansers and personal care products, the Bolton Group enters the homes of more than 100 million families around the world, every day. Founded by Joseph Nissim in 1949, the consumer packaged goods company is now led by his daughter, Marina Nissim. She is a medical school graduate and scientific researcher who joined the company in the 1990s.

In 2019, Bolton acquired Tri Marine, a leading sustainable fishing company based in the United States, and seamlessly incorporated its operations into the food business unit. With this acquisition, Bolton now has an integrated tuna supply chain that spans from the fishing process to the distribution of final canned products, making it the second largest player in the world.

The company also operates home care, adhesives, beauty and personal care business units with 11,000 people, 17 production plants and 60 offices. Its more than 60 brands have a commercial presence in over 150 countries, with leading positions in the European market. Bolton plans to continue expanding outside of Italy through organic growth and acquisitions that accelerate its journey toward sustainability.

Since the early 2000s, Marina has steered Bolton’s sustainability activities in accordance with its mission. Her ambition is to make Bolton stronger as a company, as a culture and as a community. To that end, she has appointed a Group CEO and established three board committees to help Bolton execute its strategic plan.

Developments in technology are helping us to develop tailor-made products according to cultural habits and geographies while prioritizing the protection of the environment and its inhabitants.
