EY Foundation and University Relations

The EY Foundation’s mission is to stimulate and support excellence in higher education, creating pipelines to careers in professional services.

Since it was founded in 1957, the EY Foundation has contributed more than $300 million to charitable organizations.

Our programs and initiatives include:

  • EY Academic Resource Center

The EY Academic Resource Center (EYARC) is a state-of-the-art virtual resource center which provides staff from non-profit, higher education institutions with free, leading-edge resources to prepare students for the fast-changing, global marketplace. Resources include videos, lecture notes, case studies, data sets, analytics workbooks and many other tools focused on emerging topics impacting the business and accounting profession.

The EYARC is used by more than 3,400 staff at over 900 non-profit higher education institutions across 44 countries. The Foundation has invested more than $8.9 million to support the development of these resources.

For more information or to request access to the EYARC website, please send your first and last name, the name of your school, your school email address (not a personal email), and the URL of your faculty profile to eyarc@ey.com.

  • Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

The Foundation makes grants in support of diversity recruiting to individuals, universities and groups, including the National Association of Black Accountants, Association of Latino Professionals for America, the Jackie Robinson Foundation, Ascend Foundation Inc., the Hispanic Business College Fund, Beta Alpha Psi and the Accounting Careers Awareness Program.

These grants are designed to increase the pipeline of students interested in careers in professional services, provide support for retention and financial need and facilitate conversations about the increasingly diverse and global work environments that students will face following graduation.

Over the past three years, the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion program within the Foundation has awarded over $1.8 million in direct grants.

  • Matching gifts for higher education

Through the Foundation's matching gifts program, eligible gifts from active and retired EY partners, principals and personnel to US accredited, non-profit higher education institutions are matched in accordance with program guidelines.

Over the past three years, the Foundation has matched over $31 million in gifts in support of 540 academic institutions to foster academic opportunity and excellence.

If you are interested in creating an EY matching gift fund at your school, please contact Ellen Glazerman.

If you are a partner, principal or employee of EY and would like to submit a gift to be matched, please visit EY Gives.

  • Social Justice

The EY Social Justice Fund was created in 2021 to expand the firm’s long-standing, anti-racism commitments and corporate responsibility efforts. The fund serves as a platform that allows EY professionals in the US to recommend nonprofit organizations that are dedicated to addressing the root causes of social injustice and inequity by increasing the engagement, access and influence of marginalized communities. Selected organizations work across a variety of domains, including education, economic empowerment, criminal justice, technology and health care. To date, five inaugural nonprofit organizations have received nearly $1 million in grant funding, bringing the firm’s most recent social justice and anti-racism investments to over $10 million.

  • College Mentoring for Access and Persistence

Launched in 2009, College MAP is EY's signature volunteer program in education. It is a multi-year, group-mentoring program focused on empowering students in underserved high schools across the US so that they can gain access to college and succeed in higher education.

The program also offers scholarships for both first year and continuing students to help fill the gap between financial means and college expenses. Donations from partners, principals and employees are matched in accordance with program guidelines.

Over the past three years, the Foundation has awarded over $1.9 million in scholarships to more than 725 students.
